Science Behind Mosquito Bites by Tamara Harmon

Science Behind Mosquito Bites  by Tamara Harmon

The mosquito bite that make a bump on your skin is created by the mosquito saliva not the actual action of the blood being sucked iself. All the mosquitoes that bite are females. They are looking for food to feed. (They have multiple extracting tubes) Second, once they attach to the surface of your body they pierce the skin and search for a blood vessel immediately. As they remove blood they pump their spit inside. The sucking of the blood is so strong ,that in most cases the blood vessel that is being tampered with collapses. Then it swells. That is why you get that irritating want to scratch because of dry tissue rubbing against each other (plus the spit in place off blood).

1.)Has anyone else wondered how mosquitoes create the bump?

2.)What other things have you heard about mosquito bites?

3.)Has anyone heard of the the Zika virus?
