Dead Whale Washes Ashore with Shocking 88 lbs. of Plastic in Its Stomach by Anushka Raole

A young Cuvier's beaked whale washed up dead on a beach in Compostela Valley in the Philippines, its stomach filled with 88 pounds (40 kilograms) of plastic bags. According to the Museum’s Facebook post they found 16 rice sacks, four banana- plantation-style bags and some shopping bags. This isn’t the first time this has had happened in indonaisa last november at that time they found 100 plastic ups, four plastic botteles, 25 plastic bags, and even couple of flip flops. But the Cuvier’s whale has 7 times more waste ( plastic in it’s stomach). Around 8.8 million tons (8 million metric tons) of plastic get dumped into the ocean every year, according to a 2015 report by the nonprofit Ocean Conservancy. In particular, about 60 percent of it comes from China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Because their countrys produce most of the plactic and daily needed materials.  Over the past 10 years, his group has recovered 57 dead whales and dolphins, many of which died from plastic ingestion.( Baltchy )
