Why we are testing depression in youy preschoolers. by Anushka Raole
“Feelings of severe despondency and dejection.” say oxford dictionary for depression.Now a days depression has become a huge issue. In the early 2000’s this was only found in adutls. But recently reasearchers have found out many pre- schoolers are showing these symptoms. Some of the symptoms are - showing extrem fatuige, beign sad, tearful, appetite, sleep, not joyful not playfull enough. Kids are usually joyful, playing around beign active, but because of the lack of blood flow there is no motivation. In america today 16.1 million American adults, or about 6.7% of the U.S. population age 18 .

How can we help this to decrease?
Do you think some people think it is a trend and they act so they can fit in more?
We can make young kids go outside and explore instead of being on their phones which might make them happier

I think that the increase of technology is having a big impact on the way kids brains are developing and effecting their curiosity levels, causing them to be more sluggish or lazy which develops depression. ~Myori
ReplyDeleteTo help decrease i think that the issue should be solved or at least be taken care of at a young age. The child may grow out of it but to address the issue when it is first seen, is better. -ogechi

I think it already does impact America, and every other country that has technology. Kids are staying behind a screen all day long and not growing how they are supposed to.

i think parents should watch how they entertain their kids especially when they're really little still. the things you see and habits you create when you're young follows you until you're older and then the whole world will end up a sad mess. - lexi

These preschoolers will grow up mentally unstable if they are dealing with depression at a young age and don't know how to deal with it over there life time.
ReplyDeleteI believe that if the future generations are dealing with more mental issues and illnesses then the amount of suicides and medications in the wold will increase affecting not only them but the future future generations because the illness could be genetic or they could get a hold of anti depressants and become depressed. -Liam H
