Save the Bees

Bees are a really important part of our ecosystem, and mainly the world because they really help produce plants. Also, if the bee population was to go up; they would help with pollution, and crop yield would be higher.. However in the past couple of years, there has been a great decline in the bee population. Humans have a lot to do with the decline because a big part is due to habitat loss, and also pesticide uses. Using pesticides on crops has caused harm to bees, which has led to big die off. Other countries, mainly in Europe, have gone back to mainly or only using ecological farming since it uses less pesticides, saves habitats for bees as well as other animals, and helps human food production. The US on the other hand has not done a lot for the bees, but has caused more problems because they keep protecting companies who do not help the bees. While other countries have passed laws to only do ecological farming, and no pesticide use. By not using pesticide, going to local beekeepers for honey, having your own plants at home, and just knowing about the problem can really help the population. You could even become a beekeeper yourself; the best thing for the population will have the wild population increase, however, doing what you can individually is also the best.
What is something you can do to help the bees?
Why do you think Europe is doing a better job then the US?
Do you know any famous people or any people at all that are involved with helping the bee?
Something we can do to help the bees would be to not use pesticides and I think that Europe is doing a better job then the US because they have gone back to ecological farming unlike that of the United States.

we could start planting native flowers in our yards, provide houses for a colony to start, try and remove non native plants i your yard, and stop using pesticides and other chemicals in your yard.
ReplyDeleteI think something we can do to help the bees is to stop destroying their hives and other things, and let them be, stop swatting them and things. Just basically let them live their life so that they can help produce plants. Also if we stop spraying some flowers it would help the bees as well, because the toxins wouldn't get to them. - Steven Solomon
ReplyDeleteI think that if we lower our pesticide usage that will help the bees from dying. It's definitely important to save the bee population because they can help with climate change, pollution and many more environmental issues. -Campbell Marino
ReplyDeleteSomething that we could do to help the bees is stop using pesticides and try planting more flowers for the bees. Europe is doing better than the US because Europe is using ecological farming while the US is not.

DeleteSomething we could do to help could be for someone who knows someone who uses pesticides can try to persuade them to use natural things to help the environment.

Something we can do to help save the bees is to regulate usages of pesticides as well as to plant flowers around to encourage bees to pollinate and provide food for the bees through the flowers.-sarah lachance
ReplyDeleteI think something we can do to help we could stop using pesticides and also destroying their hives.
ReplyDeleteA way we can help the bees is by not attacking, but created homes for them so they can carry out their job peacefully. Also, we can not use as many chemicals on plants so it doesn't interfere with their pollination process. -Erik E
ReplyDeleteA good way to help the bees is not using pesticide .- Diego Cruz
ReplyDeleteSomething I could do is plant flowers to help with pollination

ReplyDeleteBees are a very important part of society because if we didn't have the bees we wouldn't have honey. -Takia
ReplyDeleteHaving plants at home could really help, and making a place that's shallow, therefore safe for bees to drink water. -Nicole Conger
ReplyDeleteI think that what a lot of us can do it just planting flowers. Planting a flower is better for the planet, but also helps provide food for the bees. Another thing is just hurting bee when they are near you, or that saying bee are harmful when they just are not.

Answering the third question, I heard Scarlet Johansen was involved with beekeeping, not sure if that counts as helping bees but its interesting at the very least. Just looked it up, yeah, she was was a vocal proponent of saving the bees. pretty cool

i do not love bees because i am allergic to them, but i know they are important for the enviornement and the world. One thing i can do for them is to plant different plants that bees like that they can pollinate and spred. -Maddie SIlk
ReplyDeleteI think we can help the bees by using less pesticides because I know the U.S. id not doing the best and decreasing the amount of pesticides used. Lannah Parker
ReplyDeleteThe USA is heavily dependent on pesticides because its a cheap and easy way to deal with insects that damage crops. the pesticides get into the stream and water supplies. that water also evaporates and ends up in our clouds witch rain on all of us and the plants in the ecosystem, inducing and impacts the bees.

pesticides seem to be another big cause behind so many bees dying. if we could find safer ways to protect crops than using poison, then the bees should have a little better population growth form that
