Wildfires have been wreaking havoc in Australia over the past few weeks. The recovery is expected to take multiple years. Some of the damage is expected to last two centuries. While climate change plays a big factor in these fires a lot of them were started intentionally. About 13% if the fires are started by lightning. Some of the major effects of these fires are farms burning down and cattle dying. About 70 farms have been hit by the fires so far. Many countries are sending firefighters to help put the fires out. The main way we can help out is by making donations to reputable and actual organizations. It is important to make sure you’re not donating to an organization that’s a scam as they mention there are many scams out there.

I'm not sure how many people dies in the fires but I do know that it's a huge tragedy and that a lot of homes, animals, and possibly people were lost. I also believe this is one of the biggest natural disasters in the recent past.

The people who are dying in the fires were growing exponentially because lots of people do not like to evacuate their homes.
DeleteTwenty-four people died in the fires. The temperatures are rising and the area around them is feeling the aftermath.-Gracey Bell
ReplyDeleteThe most recent number of deaths I have seen caused by the Australia Wildfires is 27. The amount of animals killed in the fires are unfathomable. Millions of animals were incinerated in the blaze.

the effects of the wildfires are horrible but what about this plot of land over then next 10-20 years, will the effects over be a good or bad thing for the land -Drew
ReplyDeleteI would think that the temperatures of surrounding cities of the Australia wildfires are causing an increase in temperature because of how hot the fire is, and how much of Australia it is occupying.
ReplyDeleteI've read that the fires have killed about 1 billion animals and and has destroyed thousands of miles of animals habitats and peoples homes.

The fire could have a large impact on the atmosphere because there was a lot of land burned and when things burn they release carbon which will contribute to the green house gas affect and rise the global temperature.

The temperature is rising in other surrounding cities, because the fires have burned for so long and on such a large area. I also think the air quality is probably unbearable because there is so much smoke and debris floating in the air. -Elena Appel
ReplyDeleteBefore seeing this I didn't know that most of these fires were caused intentionally. It's crazy to think about how a gadgetry such as this, causing deaths of animals, homes, livelihoods and even some people could be caused (at least in part) by the people themselves. Whatever the cause I think it's important to raise awareness of these so that fires like these could be avoided in the future, at least to the scale that this event is having.

Yes, people have died. The most up to date number I have heard is 24 people but, unfortunately the number is more than likely to be higher than that. Due to the difficulty of recovering bodies ,then identifying them, in an area that is possibly still burning.

ReplyDeleteI think the affects the fire has on the environment around it could be people not having anywhere to live and animals not having a habitat to live in. By the fires spreading, they could burn down the houses and ruin forests and other places that animals live, and neither people or animals will have anywhere to go.
I think that the fires can and are having an effect on the atmosphere creating CO2 admissions which is speeding up the green house gas effect.

The wildfires are devastating and i cant imagine how awful it would be to have to live through that. I wonder what new things the people can do to stop the fires. - jake m
ReplyDeleteThe fires are creating CO2 emissions in the atmosphere and few people have died in the fires but it has destroyed homes and lots of animals and their shelters. The price is at least millions or even a billion dollars. -gabby Abowitz
ReplyDeletePeople have died. Not good. Not fun. Not happy times.

Agreed, my friend. These fires are most unfortunate. I hope a resolution can be found soon.
DeleteSuprisingly when i researched this, it turned out to be one of the highest costing disasters to repair with costs approaching 100 million dollars. it was one of the worst bush fires in the past 200 years. -Adam Spizman
ReplyDeleteThe effects of the atmosphere is that the fires release a bunch of carbon dioxide into the earths atmosphere which can and will cause the planet to become a lot hotter.
