Summary: Recycling has never been a real solution to our one-use plastics, it’s just a scam. We have to fix our use of such plastics, reusable is where it’s at. Removing one-use plastics from our lifestyle is a climate move. The sham of a Circular Economy is the plastics industry they’ll save recycling, just invest billions into new reprocessing tech that will maybe turn some of this back into plastic. Industry has also told us that it is up to the consumers to control the waste, but in reality it’s not necessarily our fault. If the bigger companies used reusable materials, for example Coca-Cola previously used glass bottles which would be recollected and cleaned then re-used.

Questions:

How effective did you think recycling was before this?

What could big brand companies do to help our situation?

How can we help this situation?

    1. There are definitely more ways we could be sorting our waste, the problem is simply the funding. The funding given to these groups is not being used for new technology, more so machinery that could maybe turn some of the material back to usable material

I didn't know untill today that the reduce reuse and recycle was the order we should be doing it. I dont think that in my younger years it was very clear or clearly presented.

  10. Recycling and trash in this world has always been a problem. I don't really think there is ever going to be a complete stop because not everyone will do this. I really hope we can improve soon and decrease the amount of waste because it does have a horrible impact on this world.
