Nba courts are made from Acer Saccharum also known as hard maple. It is harder than most woods and lighter in color. They use hard maple,so the floor won't crack of the weight of 10 players running and jumping on it. The Boston Celtics use red wood. The hard maple has been the same since 1931. The rubber underneath the hard maple floors prevents dents in the floor and helps reduce strain on players running back and forth.
Do these floors cause knee injuries?
Do you think all highschool gyms should have these types of wooden floors?
Do you think they will develop these floors more in the future.
