What does Mars' lake mean for the search for life on the Red Planet …





There was a discovery of water on mars again,but this time it was something different.  Researchers reported that on August 3 they found a wide lake of standing liquid near Mars south pole.It was spotted by an orbiting satellite and it is the largest volume of water spotted on mars.  And probably been around a very long time.The discovery still could be controversial.It is not clear how water



Could stay liquid when the temp is -68 degrees celsius .


Do you think organisms could live outside of earth?

    I definitely think there are things to learn about mars, but people don't find fascination in this as much as they used to.

      Because they have rovers and satellites detecting the temperature of the surface and atmosphere.

    The idea of water on mars is really cool and I hope they're able to identify the liquid soon so we can see if it's actually water. -Avery

    I think they should find a way to get a sample of the water to get more info.

    I think just cause there is a lake on Mars it's still not suitable to live on Mars for many reasons

    I think people can live on there but a certain amount. It will be expensive and also, no one knows the effects of living up there -Ogechi

    I believe that there could be other organisms on the planet but it would only be single celled and not what we are looking for

    I think its cool that we found water on mars but i dont think it signifies life. all life needs water but water doesnt create life. -patrick

    i do think this may be a sign of some sort of life, but that doesn't automatically mean we can live on mars since it has a completely different atmosphere than us. -Maria misner

    I think organisms could live outside of Earth in the future with all of the technology, but only if the essential needs were provided. As of right now all of the technology and research we have done has proved otherwise.

    I think that there needs to be more on mars for us to colonize or for complex life to live on mars. Mars is very cold and hostile. -Calvin
