End to Ocean Pollution

In 2018, the state of Washington banned plastic bags in attempt to start the long process of ending ocean pollution. Banning plastic bags is definitely environmentally friendly, but it doesn’t help to save oceans. Ocean pollution, which has been affecting animals all around the world, has really began to be a concern in past years. Over 1 million seabirds and 1 hundred thousand sea mammals are killed by ocean pollution every year. Washington banning plastic bags did nothing to help fight against ocean pollution because the majority of the pollution is due to other plastic containers. Eliminating plastic containers and bottles would make a difference over time and is something the world needs to consider to make a bigger impact in the fight to end ocean pollution.
