China has recently sent a rover towards the far side of the moon. The last time humans sent anything to the moon was in 1972 when the Apollo 17 arrived. This rover not only successfully landed on the dark side, but they also took a few pictures. The pictures look almost the same as the Earth-faced side, but smoother and less rigid. The name of this rover is Chang’E, named after a chinese moon goddess. Chinese Scientists are hoping to discover details on the moon’s past since no one knows exactly how it formed.
Why did it take so long to reach the dark side of the moon?
How hard is it to attempt to reach the moon?
Is this going to engage other countries into a new space race?
Going to the moon isn't something people care about as much anymore, but it's still interesting to see what the other side is like.
ReplyDeletei don't think that wasting the time and money to see something we've seen before is worth it unless there are concerns
ReplyDeleteWhat if we can test different things in space and on the moon that relate to testings on other planets in the solar system. -Liam Hipp
DeleteI think this is interesting ,but is sin't as interesting as it was a long time ago because it already happened before.

DeleteHaving people going to the moon isn't as popular as it used to be -ogechi
ReplyDeleteI know to travel throughout space cost billions of dollars and many many many man hours! So going for the moon is very hard with just those 2 factors, and not including the math to make it to the moon.

That is so cool. I think we should still do research on the moon. - Ansuhka
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the farther side of the moon will be more suitable for humans.

is the far side of the moon safe to explore more of??

it takes a lot of fossil fuels and work to travel to the moon, but it is interesting that they traveled to the dark side of the moon

The dark side of the moon could really tell us things about the physics of space and how cold affects our technology-Liam Hipp
DeleteI don't think it's that great of an accomplishment because what good did we gain from that other than just buring fossil fuels to say they did something. ~ Myori
ReplyDeleteWe've already been to the moon and according to the photos of the dark side it is the exact same as the other side. This wasn't a serious accomplishment because we've already been to space and mars is the next step

Why didn't they just go their themselves? - Cali Rigby
ReplyDeleteTraveling to the moon can use way too much fuel and hurt the environment more.-Armando Saldana
ReplyDeletewhy did it take as long as it did to get to the other half? -triston
ReplyDeleteI dont think anyone else will travel to the dark side of the moon, we have known what it looks like and now weve stepped foot on it and it isnt very important to do it again. -patrick
ReplyDeleteI don't think there was any race to reach the dark side of the moon because its the dark side, The US probably didn't need to reach the dark side because the goal was to reach the moon in general.
ReplyDeleteit's definitely not as special as it was a long time ago because it already happened.-maria misner
ReplyDeletewhen do you think people will step foot on the dark side.
